Former New Zealand allrounder Dion Nash has been elected to the New Zealand Cricket (NZC) board, taking over from Martin Snedden, who stepped down after a long tenure in various roles, including player, CEO, and board chair.
NZC chair Diana Pukepatu-Lyndon expressed enthusiasm about Nash’s appointment, noting his strong cricketing background and business acumen. “Dion has a deep understanding of both the game and its commercial side, which will be invaluable as we move forward,” she said.
Nash, who played 32 Tests and 81 ODIs for New Zealand from 1992 to 2002, was part of the 2000 ICC KnockOut-winning squad, which later became the Champions Trophy. He also captained the national team for several matches in 1999 during Stephen Fleming’s injury absence. After retiring, Nash served as a national selector from 2005 and has since built a successful career in business.
Nash’s appointment strengthens the NZC board, bringing a blend of cricketing expertise and strategic business insight at a time of transition.
