Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj has been appointed as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Telangana, a recognition of his contributions to the Indian cricket team, including the recent T20 World Cup success. The announcement was made by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy also allocated Siraj 600 square yards of land in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.
Siraj took charge as DSP after reporting to Telangana’s Director General of Police, Dr. Jitender. Photos of the cricketer in his police uniform quickly went viral on social media, prompting an outpouring of appreciation for his new role.
Siraj has also been named in India’s 15-man squad for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand, starting October 16. He is one of three pacers in the lineup, alongside Akash Deep and vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah. Siraj gained prominence during the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21, helping India secure a historic series win against Australia.
As he embarks on this new chapter in his career, Siraj continues to be a vital part of the Indian cricket team, with an upcoming tour to Australia later this year also on the horizon.
