The Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium is a newly built cricket ground in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. This marks Gwalior’s second international cricket venue after the iconic Captain Roop Singh Stadium, making the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) one of the few state bodies in India with two international cricket Stadiums. The revamped stadium has a seating capacity of 30,000, with plans for future expansion to accommodate up to 50,000 spectators if needed.
Built to meet international cricket standards, the Stadium features full-length boundary dimensions, nine different playing pitches, modern floodlights, upgraded dressing rooms, a state-of-the-art training facility, media rooms, gyms, health centers, and office spaces. The last international match held in Gwalior was an ODI between India and South Africa in 2010, where cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar became the first player to score a double century in ODI history.

Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium Pitch Report & Pitch Behavior
Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium Pitch Report: The pitch at this Stadium is expected to be similar to traditional Gwalior pitches, which are typically batting-friendly, offering true bounce and consistent pace thanks to the red soil in the region. This makes the surface ideal for high-scoring matches. However, with nine newly constructed pitches, the conditions may vary. The main pitch is predicted to favor batsmen, but others might assist spinners and seamers, creating a balanced contest. The outfield is expected to be quick, giving batters full value for their shots.
Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium Capacity
While not the largest stadium in India, the Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium’s seating capacity of 30,000 makes it a significant venue for large cricketing events. The stadium’s design also allows for expansion to increase the seating capacity to 50,000 if required.
