The Rangpur Riders have officially announced the appointment of Mickey Arthur as their head coach for the upcoming Global Super League (GSL) and Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) seasons. The seasoned cricket coach, aged 56, will take the helm starting November 26, when the GSL kicks off.
Arthur, who has an extensive coaching background, including tenures with South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan, most recently led the Dambulla Aura in the Lanka Premier League. He is also the director of cricket at Derbyshire. His wealth of experience is expected to be a significant asset for the Riders as they aim for success in both tournaments this season.

The collaboration between Arthur and the Riders has been in the works for the past week, with a focus on building a competitive squad for the upcoming tournaments. “He is very active, always gladly helping us,” Taneem added, highlighting Arthur’s proactive approach.
Arthur’s coaching style is expected to align well with the team’s culture. “I think he is perfect for Rangpur Riders’ culture.
