Zimbabwe have announced their squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Pakistan, which will take place at home in Bulawayo from November 24 to December 5. The squad features three uncapped players: fast bowler Tinotenda Maposa, and all-rounders Trevor Gwandu and Tashinga Musekiwa.

Maposa, 21, is the only player in the ODI squad yet to make his international debut. Despite having played just three List A matches, where he has taken four wickets at an economy rate of 6.29, Maposa has impressed selectors with his potential and is set to be part of the pace attack alongside the experienced Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava.

Both Gwandu and Musekiwa have made appearances in T20Is for Zimbabwe, but this series marks their first inclusion in the 50-over format. While Gwandu has previously been part of Zimbabwe’s T20I squad, Musekiwa’s selection is a significant step in his career, highlighting the selectors’ focus on injecting youthful energy into the side.

Zimbabwe’s ODI squad also includes a blend of seasoned campaigners, including captain Craig Ervine, all-rounder Sikandar Raza, and the experienced Sean Williams, who returns to the ODI fold after recovering from an injury. Williams missed the recent white-ball series in Sri Lanka but is set to play his first ODI since July 2023.

In a notable decision, Ervine and Williams were both omitted from Zimbabwe’s T20I squad, which retained the same group of players that triumphed in the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Qualifier in Kenya. The T20I team’s consistency, according to the convenor of selectors David Mutendera, is key to maintaining the momentum from their record-breaking performances.

“We believe the ODI squad is well-rounded,” Mutendera said. “With experienced players like Ervine, Raza, and Williams, alongside youthful talent like Madande, Bennett, and the uncapped trio, we are aiming for game-changing moments.”

The series against Pakistan is an important opportunity for Zimbabwe to continue developing their squad and build on recent successes across formats.
