Former England captain Nasser Hussain has responded strongly to accusations that the International Cricket Council (ICC) favored India during the 2024 T20 World Cup. After India’s convincing 68-run victory over England in the semi-finals, there has been talk about the ICC showing bias towards the Indian team.

Hussain dismissed these claims in an article for the Daily Mail. He acknowledged that some might argue that the pitch and venue in Guyana for India’s semi-final were advantageous. However, he pointed out that India had previously won against Australia on a different, bouncier pitch in St Lucia, showing their ability to adapt to various conditions.

Hussain praised India’s flexibility and performance under different circumstances throughout the tournament. He highlighted the leadership of Rohit Sharma and the contributions of players like Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya in India’s victory over England.

Looking forward to the final between India and South Africa in Barbados, Hussain emphasized the importance of the clash between two unbeaten teams in the tournament.

Hussain’s analysis refuted claims of ICC bias and focused on India’s skill and adaptability as key reasons for their success in reaching the T20 World Cup final.
