Six Sri Lankan cricketers have reached new career-high rankings in the latest ICC Men’s Test Rankings after their big win over England in the third Test at The Oval. This victory marked Sri Lanka’s first-ever Test win against England away from home.

Captain Dhananjaya de Silva was the top scorer for Sri Lanka in the first innings with 69 runs. His performance helped him jump three places to 13th on the Test rankings for batters, making him the highest-ranked player from his team.

Kamindu Mendis and Pathum Nissanka also achieved their best rankings. Mendis moved up six places to 19th after scoring a half-century, while Nissanka made a huge leap of 42 spots to 39th after scoring 64 runs and an unbeaten 127*.

For England, Joe Root remains the No. 1 Test batter, despite low scores of 13 and 12 in the match. However, his rating dropped slightly, allowing players like Kane Williamson, Daryl Mitchell, and Steve Smith to get closer. Harry Brook dropped seven places to 12th after scoring only 19 and 3 runs.

On a positive note for England, Ollie Pope moved up seven places to 27th after scoring a century in the first innings, and Jamie Smith climbed six places to 30th with a quick half-century in the second innings.

Sri Lankan bowlers also improved their rankings. Vishwa Fernando moved up 13 places to 31st after taking five wickets. Lahiru Kumara went up 10 spots to 32nd, and Milan Rathnayake jumped 26 places to 84th. England’s Olly Stone also improved, climbing 13 spots to 74th after his three wickets in the first innings.

In the T20I rankings, Australia’s Mitch Marsh and Josh Inglis made gains, with Marsh moving up two spots to 17th and Inglis jumping 28 places to 23rd. Spinner Adam Zampa moved up one place to 7th. Scotland’s Bradley Currie also made a big leap, climbing 20 spots to 49th in the T20I bowler rankings.
