Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim have both been ruled out of Bangladesh’s upcoming two-Test series against the West Indies due to injuries.

Shanto, suffering from a Grade II groin strain, will miss the series after being injured in the second ODI against Afghanistan. He will return to Bangladesh for rehabilitation. Mushfiqur, who has been dealing with a shoulder issue since the Pakistan Test series, aggravated the problem with a finger injury during the first ODI against Afghanistan.

With both senior players absent, Mehidy Hasan Miraz will captain Bangladesh for the first time in a Test series

Bangladesh has recalled wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das, who missed recent games due to fever. The squad also includes a strong pace attack featuring Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud, and Nahid Rana, alongside spinners Mehidy Hasan, Taijul Islam, and uncapped left-arm spinner Hasan Murad.

The first Test begins on November 22 in Antigua, with the second Test starting on November 30 in Jamaica.
