Ishan Porel’s brilliant four-wicket haul helped Bengal seize control of their ongoing Ranji Trophy match against Karnataka, taking a commanding 207-run lead at Stumps on Day 3 in Kolkata.

Karnataka, resuming the day at 155 for 5, were bowled out for 221 in their first innings, with Porel wreaking havoc in the middle and lower order. Abhinav Manohar (55) was the only significant contributor for the visitors, but his resistance proved short-lived as Karnataka lost their final five wickets for just 66 runs. Porel finished with figures of 4 for 59.

Bengal extended their dominance in the second innings, reaching 127 for 3 at the close of play. Despite losing three wickets, they now sit comfortably on a 207-run lead, with nightwatchman Mukesh Kumar (2) and Sudip Chatterjee (18) at the crease.
