The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced its 15-member squad for the T20I series against India, with Test skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto leading the side.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz has earned a recall to the T20I setup after a 14-month absence, while left-handed opener Parvez Hossain Emon and left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan also make the cut. Soumya Sarkar, however, has been dropped.
Mehidy’s consistent performances in Tests and ODIs have paved the way for his return, bolstering Bangladesh’s lineup. The batting unit includes stalwarts like Mahmudullah, Litton Das, and Jaker Ali. Meanwhile, Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed will spearhead the bowling attack.
This series marks a significant moment for Bangladesh, as they will compete without their all-round star, Shakib Al Hasan, who retired from T20Is ahead of the second Test against India.
Bangladesh’s last T20I tour to India ended in a 2-1 defeat back in 2019, and they’ll be looking to improve this time around.
